Group therapy can be a scary step for those who are seeking healing and recovery. For many people they fear that they can never be loved or accepted again because of what they’ve done or experienced. They have never shared their story with anyone else. Group therapy can offer an opportunity to share and truly connect with others. It can be a place where you’re able to breakdown shame while finding acceptance and validation.
Angela Spearman has a masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, is a Licensed Associate Counselor, and is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Sex Addiction Therapy (CSAT), and Hypnosis. Angela is a dedicated affair recovery therapist in Searcy.
Angela’s basis for her therapy sessions is, “healing happens in the context of healthy relationships.” She explains, “When you meet with me, you will find that sharing your journey, finding relief from pain, and regaining hope for a better tomorrow are all intentionally included in each session. I have strong shoulders, designed tough for heavy burdens and graceful for tender moments. I've been through this with many others like you. There are simple things we can do to bring healing, starting with your very first session.”
While studying Marriage & Family Therapy, Angela trained with the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals leading to an Associate Sex Addiction Therapist certification. She has been trained to treat trauma utilizing neurobiology, creative processes, play therapy, and EMDR.
